Innovation in transport doesn’t happen by chance. We are developing one in collaboration with Brno University of Technology.

Together with Brno University of Technology, we are working on the project Diagnostics and monitoring of switch rail fractures, co-funded by the Technology Agency of the Czech Republic and the Ministry of Transport of the Czech Republic under the DOPRAVA 2030 Programme. This programme helps translate cutting-edge research into practical solutions.

The project aims to develop an intelligent system capable of:
✔ early detection of cracks in switch rails
✔ preventing incidents and damage
✔ introducing predictive maintenance principles
✔ optimizing operational and maintenance costs

By combining IoT technologies, advanced analytics, and data digitalization, the solution will enable continuous infrastructure monitoring and provide key insights for timely decision-making.

Experts from ZAT a.s. contribute extensive experience in software development, data platforms, and industrial applications. Teams across the company and the university are working together to deliver a functional prototype ready for real-world deployment in 2027.
