Efficient management of technologies at Plzeň Main Railway Station

ZAT provides comprehensive control and diagnostics solutions for transport infrastructure in rail, road, and urban transport. Our control systems ensure reliable and safe operation of half of the railway electrical dispatch centers in the Czech Republic.

Let’s look back together at some of the significant projects from last year. One of these was the complete reconstruction of the dispatch building at Plzeň Main Railway Station. Our part of the project included expanding the existing system for remote diagnostics of technological systems of the railway route (DDTS), which had been developed during previous works on track reconstruction.

We supplemented the system with monitoring of technological systems newly installed in the reconstructed dispatch building. A remote diagnostics switchboard was installed in the communication room, containing a new integration concentrator built on the SandRA Z210 PLC. This unit consolidates all data from the monitored technologies, such as the camera system, evacuation public address system, passenger information system, electric fire and security alarms, lighting, heating and ventilation measurement and control system for the entire building, energy metering, monitoring of power supply to individual technologies, elevators, escalators, and more.

The data is then transmitted to the integration server of the regional directorate and displayed on various dispatch and operational client stations within the Plzeň Regional Directorate and at the Central Dispatch Center in Prague.

Thanks to this, the system provides the operator with a comprehensive overview and efficient control of technologies, contributing to better operation and increased passenger safety.
