ZAT will supply additional key systems for the Metsamor Nuclear Power Plant in Armenia

At the end of 2024, we signed a significant contract to supply two key control systems for the primary circuit of the Metsamor Nuclear Power Plant in Armenia. The deployment of the systems will be carried out in cooperation with Škoda JS during the planned outage in 2026.

The systems involved are ARM (reactor power regulator) and AGCN (main circulation pumps automation), which are essential for the safe and efficient operation of the nuclear power plant. The ARM system ensures precise control of reactor power, while the AGCN system enables reliable operation of the main circulation pumps, which are critical for reactor cooling.

ZAT control systems thus play a significant role in the most important part of the plant—the nuclear reactor—contributing to the extension of the Armenian nuclear power plant’s operational life and enhancing its safety.

The delivery of these systems is part of a comprehensive control solution for the Metsamor Nuclear Power Plant, where ZAT technology accounts for approximately 20 percent of the total control system. The project is being implemented together with Škoda JS.

By signing this new contract, we build upon the 2019 delivery, when, in cooperation with Škoda JS, we supplied the RRCS system for control of the reactor control rods to the Armenian nuclear power plant.

The contract, valued in the tens of millions of Czech crowns, confirms our position as one of the European leaders in the supply of control and automation systems for nuclear energy.
