Jadro 2025 Conference: Czech industry would welcome enhanced communication
The main topic of the Jádro Conference, held on November 5, 2024, under the auspices of the Association of Building Entrepreneurs and the Czech Energy Alliance, was the completion of the Dukovany Nuclear Power Plant.
The conference focused on the maximum involvement of Czech companies in the construction of the new Dukovany units — a key project both for ZAT and for the Czech Republic’s energy self-sufficiency.
Representatives of KHNP, the winning bidder in the tender, presented their plans for local industry participation and the organization of the nuclear reactor construction — a project worth CZK 400 billion.
According to Jiří Nouza, President of the Association of Building Entrepreneurs, there are concerns on the Czech side as to whether clear commitments on the share and form of Czech industry participation in this “project of the century” — critical to both national energy and security independence — can be anchored in the EPC contract before its scheduled signing in March.
The conference was divided into three thematic blocks. The first focused on localization (involvement of Czech companies) and the organization of new nuclear build projects. The second addressed the development of small and modular reactors (SMRs). The third featured a political discussion with leading politicians from both chambers of the Czech Parliament and representatives from the business sector.
