We will deliver a control system to the Kozloduy NPP in Bulgaria for 15.5 million euros

We have achieved another significant success in the field of nuclear power supply in Europe.

In mid-March, we signed a contract for the supply of RRCS – the Reactor Rod Control System for units 5 and 6 of the Bulgarian Kozloduy nuclear power plant for 15.5 million euros.

"This is another nuclear power plant in Europe that will be controlled by a system developed and manufactured in Příbram. It is currently one of the most modern control systems in the field of nuclear power on the market, meeting the most demanding safety conditions according to the requirements of European regulatory authorities," says Ivo Tichý, a member of the ZAT board of directors.

The delivery of two systems for the fifth and sixth units of the Kozloduy NPP will take place over the next three years. In the first year, the project phase will take place, in 2025 the deliveries, assembly and revival of the first block will be carried out, and the second block will be carried out a year later.

According to the employees of the nuclear power plant, this is the largest contract for the supply of Czech equipment for a Bulgarian power plant in the last 20 years. "Even from our point of view, this is an important milestone. Bulgaria was the last location within the EU where the Czech control system has not yet been deployed at VVER-type power plants. With this step, we have closed the imaginary circle and confirmed our top competence in the field of nuclear power in Europe," adds Ivo Tichý.

Our company's control systems and know-how are currently deployed in 30 percent of nuclear power plants in the EU and 10 percent in the world.
